Feb 06, 2026 - Kindergarten (Friday)

Hari Om Parents,

We started our class with opening prayers and 3 Om.

We had a short class today as we had a mid-year parents meeting and Grade 8 play.

We went over next Chapter- W for work. We asked kids what type of work they do and what does it take to get good at our work. Few commented on how parents go to work. Some of the kids play sports and realized that to get good, you have to put the effort in with practice. That also includes doing reading and math work in school. We showed kids short video of Usain Bolt- 8 time Olympic gold winner in track. Kids realized to get that good, you have to put the work. Even with soccer goals, you have to put the effort to get better.

STORY- the squirrel and rabbit. Kids watched a video where the squirrel started preparing for the winter by collecting acorns and getting his house ready for the winter. The rabbit did not feel like getting ready for the winter. Winter came. The rabbit realized that he had no food, no warm place to stay. The squirrel kindly shared his food and house with the rabbit.

MORAL- You must work hard in order to play and enjoy.

STORY- The villager and the milk pail.
Kids heard a story about a poor villager who finds a pail of milk. He gets excited, rests the pail on the table, and starts daydreaming. He started to dream about selling the milk and buying 2 goats. He would raise goats, and then sell them for 2 cows. He would raise them to have more cows. Then he would sell the milk and yogurt and buy jewels. He would sell the jewels to the King and marry his daughter. He would be married, with kids. But what if the kids do not listen and make too much noise. He quickly got up and spilled all of the milk that was on the table.

MORAL- We cannot daydream our plans. We have to work hard to get what we want.

GAME- We had each child dribble the ball between 3 cones. They realized that it was not easy to do that and can practice if they want to improve.

Kids were sweet and started their Likhita Japa while we met with the parents.
