Nov 16, 2025 - Grade 3 (Sunday PM)

Hari om,

We started today's class with 3 Om's and an opening prayer.

After a brief review of last week's discussion, we moved on to this week's discussion.

This week, we learnt about Kapila's teachings.

Life story of Kardama Muni and Devahuti.

Devahuti is Manu's daughter who married Kardama.
They had 9 daughters who married the Prajapatis.
Lord Vishnu promised to be born as their son, after which Kardama would leave to meditate at the lotus feet of Lord
Lord was born as Kapila.  After Kapila was born, Kardama left the ashram to meditate upon the lord.

From a young age, Kapila was very devout and knowledgeable. Many rishis came to visit him and to learn from him.

Devahuti was a very devoted wife and served her husband well. Once her husband and daughters left her, Devahuti became depressed as everything that she thought was hers did not hold any meaning.  She prayed to Kapila to teach her to remove her ignorance of this maya and give her peace.

Kapila taught his mother Brahma Vidya and gave the world Sankhya philosophy.

To know oneself and lord, one must purify oneself. To purify oneself, individuals need to know the following:

-Follow the rules of life
-Perform one's duty
-Seeing work as worship (Ask about Narada muni's story)
-Chant God's name constantly
-See God as one's friend
-See God in all beings (Gauthama's story)
-Love God as one's relative or friend

With Guru's Blessings
