Week 5 Update
Likhita Japa - Class began with the children writing 18 times - "Sri Krishna Sharanam Mama", in their notebooks.

Shlokas
Om chanting, Sahana vavatu, Vakratunda mahakaya, Saraswati namastubhyam, Guru Brahma, Mahamrutyunjaya shloka (My Prayers, pg 78).
We revised verse 1-3 of Krishnashtakam and learned verse 4 (My Prayers book pg 109)

Diwali/ Deepavali festival
Today we shared the story of Dhanvantari Trayodashi. Story of Naraka Chaturdashi, Story of Bali Padyami and celebrating Lakshmi Puja.

Krishna Lila
Mathura and the story of evil Kamsa.
The story of Vasudeva and Devaki. 
Bhagwan takes a human form. The many limbs of Bhagwan Vishnu.
Story of the exchange of the babies and Vasudeva's journey to Gokula.
Durga/ Mahamaya's warning to Kamsa.

Introspection Activity: The children unscrambled letters to the word - Forgive.
In their notebooks they will write down how they practiced this virtue each day of the week.

Gita Chanting
We learned verse 7 and 8 from Chapter 15 today (BV Handbook, pg 25). Remind your child to review the verses regularly.

We then wrapped up the class early to go to the prayer hall for Saraswathi Puja. The session ended with the Pledge recitation.
Bala Vihar will be on Diwali break next week. Wishing all Grade 4 families a joyous and blessed Diwali/ Deepavali!
