Sep 14, 2025 - Grade 4 (Sunday AM)

Hari Om Parents, 

Welcome to our Grade 4 class, Today is the second class. We all met in  our classroom -- "Murari" and after all the kids came to the class.

We started the class by sitting criss cross and  chanted 3 Oms, and then we chanted

The Opening Prayers:  3 Oms, then Sahana Vavatu, Ganesha Slokha -Vakra Tunda, Saraswathi Slokha- Saraswathi Namasthubayam, Guru Slokha - Guru Brahma.

Class rules: We went over the rules of the class and accepted behavior in the classroom to make it a nice experience for all.

We briefly discussed our curriculum. Bala Bhagvatham Part 2 - Krishna Everywhere and My 24 Teachers. 

We started our curriculum with Bala Bhagvatham Part 2 - Krishna Everywhere and did a precap of all the Avatars of Vishnu and all the Yugas.

Overview of Dashavatar & Yugas:

            We discussed all the Yugas and the different Avatars of Vishnu in each Yuga and what each Avatar taught us. Each kid volunteered to go over the details of each Avatar from the slide and what are the key points of each Yuga and each Avatar, and we are excited to say Kids happily shared relevant stories related to some of the Avataras.

Quiz:

    And then we did a quiz on the yugas and Avatars - kids divided themselves in one yuga and we had four groups of kids, and Kids tried their best to give correct answers to the questions from the choices provided and got points. 

KIds had fun and were engaged in deciding the correct answer to get points for their group.

Yoga time:

        We did the Tree Pose, Stretch exercise and Thopakarni, and then kids did other yoga poses like head stand etc.

 Handbooks:  The handbooks for 2025-2026 were distributed to kids who were in the class Roster.  

  Attendance: Attendance was taken while the handbooks were distributed.

 Bhagvad Geeta : Gītā Chanting Yajna telecast  Bhagavad Gītā - Chapter 15 - Puruṣottama yogaḥ -Yoga of The Supreme Spirit,  Verses 1, 2  we all chanted together.

Please make kids practice at home. All are required to learn chanting - Chapter 15 comprising a total of 20 verses in preparation for the Samashti Gita Chanting in May 2026. Handbooks have all the verses from Bhagvad Geeta Ch 15 and Ch12.

 Then we all went to the prayer hall for Assembly, for Aarthi and Pledge.

 Kids actively participated, and we had a lot of fun overall and especially with the quiz. Looking forward to a great year ahead with your wonderful kids!!

 Next week: We have BalaVihar House Activities planned for next week. Grade 4 belongs to Krishna's Cowboys and hence please dress up kids in Blue color outfits.
