Welcome to week 2 Chinmaya Vrindavan Balavihar 3rd Grade.
Our class began with an opening prayer.
Shlokas:
We all chanted OM 3 times followed by shlokas
"Om Saha Navavatu" (page 8 in My Prayers book)
"Vakratunda Mahakaya" (page 27 in My Prayers book)
"Sarawathi namasthubhyam" (page 12 in My Prayers book)
"Guru Brahma" (page 61 in My Prayers book)
"Buddhir balam" (page 152 in My Prayers book)
We revised verses 1 & 3 and learnt verse 3 & 4 of Gurustotram. Please keep practicing at home.
Story Time:
We recapped the 10 Avataras of Lord Vishnu.
The stories for today:
What do we learn from Bhagavatam?
All the disciples gathered around Sutaji and Saunaka rishi asked a question how can one be happy forever. Sutaji replied the answer lies in the poem, Bhagvatam which was composed by Sri Veda Vyasa. One day Narada rishi came to see Veda Vyasa. On seeing Vyasa, Narada Ji asked him why he looked sad. He asked him if he is not satisfied and happy with his actions and thoughts? Vyasa replied inspite of compiling 4 Vedas, 18 Puranas and the great epic Mahabharata he was not happy and always had a feeling of unrest and dissatisfaction. Narada Ji told him he has described the Dharma of a human being well but haven't described the glories of Maha Vishnu. Saying so Narada Ji left and Vyasa Ji composed Bhagvatam.
In Bhagvatam we'll learn:
- How to be happy?
- How and why God took avataras
- What did He do
- Whom he saved and why
Who is Naradaji??
Narada ji was the son of a servant lady who lived serving saints in the ashram. Narada Ji lived there hearing the glories of Bhagavan from the saints. It so happened that one day Narada Ji's mother got bitten by a snake and died and thus Narada Ji was left all alone. After this incident Narada Ji went to the forest for mediating and Bhagavan, being happy with him, blessed him by saying he will be reborn as Brahmaji's son. Few years later he died and was reborn again as the son of Brahmaji.
Then we learn the House shloka Chat: Bolo Bolo sab mil bolo Om namah Shivaya.
Please ask your kids to chant this small bhajan.

My prayer book to balavihar every session.
Please bring the children to balavihar a few minutes before 9.15 am. We want to promptly start by 9.15 am. Please make sure the student is not late and may come at the latest by 9.20 and not later than that.
