We warmly welcome you and your child to the 9th Grade Balavihar class this year! We are truly excited to spend this journey with the children, guiding them as they learn, reflect, and grow together.
This year's curriculum is Hindu Culture and chinmaya mission pledge . The topics we will explore include but not limited to:
- What is Hindu culture and why we need one
- The law of karma, the path of dharma, and how living this path leads to a happy life
- The four āśramas (stages of life), with emphasis on the brahmacharya phase that the children are in now
- Values and duties in each stage of life
- An introduction to our rituals, including ṣoḍaśopacāra pūjā and other d2d customs
- Learning and reflecting on Chinmaya mission pledge
Through stories, discussions, and activities, the children will learn how these teachings apply in their own lives, helping them build a strong foundation of values while connecting with our cultural roots.
