Mar 15, 2026 - Grade 4 (Sunday AM)

Hari Om Parents,

Today in Grade 4 class, we started the class with:

Opening Prayers: We all sat straight, criss-cross, hands folded, chanted together 3 Oms, then Sahana Vavatu, Ganesha Slokha -Vakra Tunda, Saraswathi Slokha- Saraswathi NamasthubayamGuru Slokha - Guru Brahma.

My 24 Gurus: We learnt about the next Guru - Child

  Who Am I?

  • I am helpless

  • I like to touch

  • I like to taste

  • I am messy

  • Everyone loves me.

And the child Guru taught us that we need to have  childlike innocence and be free from all worries.

Story Time: Through the story of Akbhar and his Grandchild, and the story of the Proud King with new clothes we learnt how childlike innocence and carefree attitude is needed at times.

Sloka Chanting:  We all together recited KrishnaAshtakam

My 24 Gurus: We learnt about the next Guru - Arrow Maker

  Who Am I?

  • Skillful worker,
  • Useful in the battlefield,
  • Was used by Lord Rama, Lakshmana, and Arjuna.

Brainstorming: We discussed - An arrow maker was so focussed in making his arrow, that he did not even notice the King and his entire retinue pass by with so much music and show.

How only Newton noted about the apples falling on the ground and came up with Gravitational Law. And Newton's single Pointed Focus brought out many inventions which helped mankind.

Sunlight does not burn a piece of paper, but when we let it pass through a magnifying glass, it burns the paper,

We learnt that Concentration, focus and single pointed attention to any specific thing will make us succeed in it.

Next Guru : Concentration - making the mind to focus or think about one form, object, thought, topic, concept steadily for a long time.

Story Time: Drona's Test -  Through this story we learnt how Arjuna's single pointed focus made him the best Archer in the entire world. And to achieve anything in life, single pointed focus and concentration are very important.

Bala Bhagavatam :  We went over how Gopi, Gopikas, and Lord Krishna performed Raas Leela, and how at certain times during their divine dance, each Gopi felt that each of them were dancing with Krishna himself.

Bhagvad Geeta chanting : The video of verses 9,10 from Ch 12 BG was played on TV and we all chanted together.

And then we all went to the Assembly for Aarthi and Pledge, and also chanted Ch 15 in the assembly before aarthi.
