Hari om,
Today, we started with Hiranyakashipu and Prahlada's story.
Hiranyakashipu was very mad after his brother's death. (Hiranyaksha).
To become powerful, he prayed to Brhamaji. He did a severe penance. Brhamaji appeared and gave him a boon to fulfill his wish:
-He should not die either in the day or at night
-He should not be killed by an animal or a human
-He should not be killed by any creation made by Brhama
-He should not be killed by any weapon
-He should neither die inside nor outside
-He should not die on the ground or in the sky.
Ask kids why Hiranyakashipu was granted the boon.
After the boon, his arrogance and torture increased even more.
At the time when he was engaged in lots of wars, his wife was pregnant. And a few of them did not want another Hiranyakashipu to be born, so they took her away and tried to harm. at that time, Narada Muni protected Mom and the baby and took them to his Ashram.
Every day Narada muni did Kirthanam, chanting and telling stories of Lord Narayana. Although mom was bored and slept, the baby inside mom's womb listened to all the glories of the lord and when he was born, he became a great devotee of the Lord.
Prahalada grew to be a very humble, kind, and nice kid, constantly absorbed in the Lord's thought. So, nothing bothered, scared, or angered him.
He was put in Gurukulam, although he followed everything that his teacher said, his mind was set on the Lord's thoughts.
Ask them about various tortures that Prahlada went through.
-Attacked by weapon, poisonous snake, elephant, throwing him off the mountain, Holika, and put him in prison without food. All through this, he was calm and not scared. No harm happened to him as lord constantly protected him.
Talk about Lord's avatar (Narasimha: Half lion, half human).
They all knew the story well, as they watched the movie, so ask them deeper questions:
-Why was Prahlada never scared?
-What did he teach his father and other kids in Gurukulam
-Can we be Prahalada?
With Guru's Blessings
