Hari Om Parents,
We started our class with opening prayers and 3 Oms. We reviewed Ganesha, Saraswati, Vishnu, Karagre… and Brahmapanam mantras.
Next chapter was X for Excellence. Kids told us that to get good at sports, school, we have to practice to excel. Practice makes perfect.
We saw a short video on Thomas Edison. Edison was a prolific inventor with over 1,000 patents. Kids looked at the light bulbs in our rooms and how long it took Edison to come up with the invention. When asked by reporter about how he felt with the number of failed attempts with the light bulb, Edison replied, :Fail? I haven't failed at all. I now know a thousand ways not to make an electric light bulb." It is this attitude and perseverance that led Edison to his success.
GAME- Kids had a really fun time trying to throw a ball in the center of the magnetic dartboard. With practice and concentration, you can get better at hitting the target, just like Arjuna.
Chapter Y- for Yajna
We showed a picture of priests doing a Yajna and asked if kids have attended similar pujas. We told kids that performing a Yajna pleases God. Yajna Spirit is when we all work together and this also pleases God.
GAME- Kids were asked to all work together to pick up spilled beans on the floor. Pranathi told us that we can divide the task as well. They did a really good job.
GAME- Kids had fun playing tug of war. We asked children to hold the band one at a time to see if they can pull both of the aunties on the other side. When they all came together, they did pull us both.
GITA- We went over Chapter 12 Verses 1-10. We all met at the temple hall to recite Chapter 15.
