We started our class by writing Om for Likhitha jaapa followed by our opening prayers, Saraswathi Mantra and Ganesh Mantra.

Saraswathi Mantra:-

Padma patra vishalakshi Padma kesara varnini|Nityam padama layam Devi samam paatu saraswathi bhagavathi nisheya jaadya paha.
Ganesh Mantra:-
vakratuṇḍa mahākāya sūryakoṭi samaprabha
nirvighnaṃ kuru me deva sarvakāryeṣu sarvadā
We recapped on what was learnt in last classes.
Letter 'A' – for Aspiration- What and how focused Arjuna was and to achieve what we want to do is Aspiration.
Letter 'B'- for Brotherhood. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is a Sanskrit phrase that means "The world is one family".
Letter 'C- for cleanliness is next to Godliness.
Letter 'D' – for Daddy. Pitru Devo bhava.
Letter 'E' – for Enthusiasm- Enthusiasm means to do with eagerness.
Letter –'F' – for friendship- A friend indeed is a friend indeed.
Letter –'G' – for God- God is everywhere, can do everything. We can treat God as friend father, guide, and teacher.
Letter- 'H' – for Happiness- We must learnt to be happy all the time, we get what we get and we don't get upset.
Letter –'I'- for Intelligence- Intelligence is something which we used to make the right decisions.
Letter- 'J'- for Jaapa- Jaapa means chanting god's name with love and devotion constantly.
We recapped how we learnt about Rama and we sang the Bhajan we learnt last time.

We moved to the next letter we were going to learn.
Letter –'K' –
What words starts with K- Kangaroo, King, and Key are few answers we got? But the word we were going to learn was 'Kindness'
We asked kids what kindness means to them.
They mentioned being nice to others, friends, mom, dad.
Being kind means – helping anyone who is need.
We watched two short stories about kindness.
Siddhartha and Swan
Gautama Buddha was born as Siddhartha to king Sudhodhana and Queen Maya.
He was very soft natured. He used to go on walks near his palace where there was lake every evening. He one day saw a swan being hit by an arrow and fallen down. He pulled the arrow and was about to take it to palace to heal the wound. Just then he heard his cousin Devadatta come running to him and say that he shot the swan so it was his.
Siddhartha disagreed and said I saved the swan so it's mine. They both went to royal court to settle the argument. When this was brought to the king and his ministers they didn't know what to do, then an old wise minister said can I suggest something King what I think is right.
"Everyone has right to live, the right to live has more precedence than killing. Since Siddhartha saved a life of the swan I think he has to keep the Swan" all the members in the court agreed and finally Siddhartha took the swan gave it good care until it healed the wound of the arrow and then let it fly back to its family and friends.
Devadatta then said to Siddhartha" I remember how my mom is very kind like you and takes care of me when I'm unwell. Thank you Siddhartha that you helped to realize what is being kind and how important it is to be kind".
We made the kids enact this one after watching the story so that they can relate it and remember.
Second Story
Androcoles and Lion.
Androcoles a young boy who was a slave to one master. His master treated him badly. Unable to bear this Androcoles once day ran away to forest.
After running for some time he found a cave and went inside it and slept.
He woke up with a roaring sound. Then he saw a lion coming towards him, Androcoles was very scared and thought that the lion would eat him up. When the lion came closer to him he saw that it was actually moaning in low growl with pain. There was thorn in its paw due to which it was unable to walk and was in pain.
Androcoles daringly took the thorn out and tied a bandage to the lions paw.
He took care of the lion until it was healed. The lion and Androcoles became friends.
One day when Androcoles went to buy berries he was caught by soldiers as he was thrown into Arena as a punishment for his running away. He had to fight a beast as his punishment.
The entire arena was filled with people and everyone was waiting to see how Androcoles would do. From the other gate of the arena a beast was let out. Out came the Lion with roaring sound. Androcoles knew he was going to die. As soon as the Lion came near Androcoles it recognized Androcoles and started licking his face. The lion remembered the kindness showered by Androcoles when it was in pain and repaid back by saving his life.
Everyone was amazed to see this and Androcoles and lion both were set free by King.
King appreciated Androcoles for his kindness and also the loyalty of the lion.
Moral: - we should always be kind to others be it humans or animals.
We divided class in two groups and gave two papers happy and sad face. They had to show the paper of happy and sad based on the below. Every one of our smarties were right.

Kids were given coloring paper of K.
Kids were asked the below
1) Why does mom give you hug and make you your favorite food. - She loves us.
2) Why does dad play with you even though he is tired from work? He loves us.
3) Why do you share your things with your friends? We love/like them.
That is our next letter. L- Is for Love.
We took Popsicles and made homes. First we made them and saw that they were not sticking when we lifted them, then we used a glue stick and paper and then they all were sticking well.
Everyone made their own beautiful homes.
What is glue doing here? It is helping to stick the popsicles pieces here is what we learnt.
Because we love each other we are sticking together as family, when we love someone we will be ready to do anything like moms and dad and also our siblings.
Kids were given coloring paper for L. P
We wanted to do a story on love but at this point actually our little ones wanted to go home and were getting restless J and they all wanted to go home and started getting restless.
So we chanted Bhagavad gita chapter 15. 1-6 and learnt verses 7, 8. Please make them practice as this is for our global chanting on May 9th 2026. It was finally time to go home. We wrapped up our class by doing Aarthi in class as our ashram was getting ready for Baghavata Saptham which is taking place from Dec 6th-13th.
NOTE:- The curriculum for Kindergarten is Alphabet Safari, Please purchase the book from book store, kindly collect the handbook as well since we will be learning Bhagavad Gita Chapter 15 (1-20 shlokas) and Bhagavad Gita Chapter 12 (1-20 shlokas) is available in the 2025-26 year handbook.
Few important notes and points.
1. We request everyone to make sure children are present in the class a few mins before 7pm.
2. Please send a folder to class to keep the handed out Letters and crafts as we plan to do a book with them. Please preserve the papers as we are often hearing students we threw them out.
3. Please send crayons, pencils, Glue and erasers in a box.
4. Make sure children use the bathroom before coming to class so that we don't take bathroom breaks unless there is an emergency.
5. Please join what's app group and communicate with teachers in case your child is unable to come to class.
6. Kindly check our messages and emails which are being shared so that important information is not missed out.
