Hari OM Dear Families,

Here is this week's update.

Week : 10
21st Dec 2025 9:15AM

Shlokas-
We all chanted OM 3 times followed by  shloka
"Om Saha Navavatu" (page 8 in My Prayers book)
"Sarawathi namasthubhyam" (page 12 in My Prayers book)
"Guru Brahma" (page 61 in My Prayers book)

Letter: K stands for Kindness which means being gentle, generous and good natured. We can be kind and helpful to others with our actions.
What is a kind person like? Ready to help at all times.
Loving, doing nice things for others, understanding, caring, sharing, friendly, showing kindness in action.
So, kindness is expressing love in sweet, loving words, and thoughtful and loving action.

Ways of showing Kindness - Kindness is one of the many ways of showing our devotion to God. God accepts the flower of human kindness with the greatest love. Being kind to others is being kind to God, because he is in every living being's hearts.
What are some acts of kindness we can do?

Kindness given is always returned.
Kindness is not only between human beings but can even be shown to animals.
Story: Androcles and the Lion
Androcles was a slave and was so tired of working very hard but was ill treated being a slave. He ran away from the king's palace and wandered in the forest and slept at some point being very tired. He woke up to the roar of a lion and was scared if the lion might eat him. The lion was in pain, he was hurt badly at one of his legs. Androcles was a kind mian, he tried to apply the herbal juice of some leaves that can cure the wound. After treating the lion, he walked away and the lion didn't chase him. After a few days, Androcles was caught by the soldiers of the kingdom and brought in front of the king. The king punished him for running away. His punishment was to put him in front of a hungry lion. The lion came near him and understood that this man saved the lion a few days ago. The lion didn't harm him and the king was surprised. He set Androcles free for being a kind person. Androcles didn't expect any reward for being kind but God gave him the best reward.
We can be kind to each other without expecting anything in return.

K for knowledgeable- A person who is intelligent and well informed is a knowledgeable person.

Story Time: Prince Sidhartha and his cousin Devadatta were playing in the garden. Suddenly they spotted a flock of birds flying in the sky. Devadatta took his bow and arrow and shot an arrow on a bird, The bird fell on the ground heavily hurt. Sidhartha ran and picked the bird and tried to calm the bird by applying the juice of the medicinal herbs and leaves from the garden. The bird slowly started to recover. Devadatta claimed that it was his bird, as he shot him. But sidhartha said it belongs to him since he treated its wounds. Sidhartha was so knowledgeable that he knew as he made the bird alright and also the bird feeling safe and happy in sidhartha's arms, the bird belongs to him. He went to the king and explained boldly. The king was so happy about Sidhartha's right speech and advised devadatta not to bother poor birds. Sidhartha happily set the bird to fly.

Through the story of Prince Siddhartha and the bird, and the story of Androcles and the Lion., we learn the moral that when we are kind without expecting anything in return, God will take care of all of our needs!

Game time- we played a ganesha movement game, where we completed three portions, the rest to be played and completed at home this holiday.

Yoga time - vruksasana, bhujangasana and jumping jacks.

Letter "L" - stands for 'Love' which means being affectionate. And we express our Love through good behavior and serving others.

various ways we can express our Love for others. And that   Love is a special feeling. Love is difficult to explain, but when you love someone you want to do everything to make that person happy. Even if it means that you have to work hard or sacrifice, you will do it without complaint for the person you love. And we all cannot live without love, and God loves us all the most.

Story Time 1: Gandhiji's Love - Gandhiji was getting ready to have his lunch, by then there was a commotion in the lunchroom. A thief had come to steal food to satisfy his hunger, everyone except Gandhi ji said he must be severely punished. But Gandhiji made him sit next to him and made him eat to his heart's content. The thief declared to Gandhi ji that he would not steal going forward. Love can change any bad person into a good person.
Love could change a person to become good and we all need to have love for each other.
One can show Love by doing good things and behaving well with others and we can show our love through simple deeds every day.

Who Loves Us The Most? We discussed all the gifts we have, and what is the best gift we have? Kids responded that their parents are the best gift that God gave to them and that God gave a lot of wonderful gifts in this whole universe and God loves us the most.

Love with no expectations. Bhaktas' love towards God.

Sabari story. Rama and Lakshmana were on a mission to find sita mata, walked all over the place and landed in sabari ashram. Sabari is an old ascetic who was longing to see Lord Rama for so many years. Everyday she would wake up, take a bath, gather some wild berries and do pooja. She would then wait with her flower basket for Rama to come. When Rama didn't show up, she thought that the Lord would come the next day. Like this she waited for many years. One day the Lord came and she was so happy and offered her daily plucked berries. As her favorite lord was in person, she wanted him to eat the best of the berries. So she bit one tiny bite of every berry and gave Him only the sweet ones. Rama accepted her love. Lakshmana was shocked to see this act by sabari but Rama said this is a true love of a devotee.

hanuman (story) After Rama 's coronation, hanuman was gifted with an expensive pearl chain by sita mata. Hanuman ji took it and sat in a corner of the room and started checking the pearls if it had rama inside. Everyone was shocked to see Hanumanji's actions. They all asked HIM Rama was right there but what inside he was talking about. Hanuman ji then ripped his chest and showed Rama and Sita inside him. Hanuman ji's love and bhakti towards Rama cannot be measured. Hanuman ji is the true Rama Bhakta.

L stands for Leader
leader who helps his or her friends to make good choices, and shows everyone how to reach the goal.

Rama as a leader. Rama took the entire Vanara sena or the monkey team to fulfil the mission of bringing back Sita mata. Under His leadership The monkey team won and they brought back Sita mata with Love and Devotion. This was made possible by Lord Rama's leadership skills.
