Hari Om! Parents,
Attendees: 5 out of 7.
Absent - Ryan R and Ritvik
We began our classes with chanting and likitha japa, where kids write their favorite deity's name 18 times.
Highlights
Mahabharata – Chapters 5
We continued our journey through the Mahabharata, reviewing Chapters 1-4 to reinforce the characters. And we started chapter 5 talking about Karna.
Gurus – Inspirations from Spiritual Masters
We reviewed the Gurus we have covered so far — Adi Shankara, Tapovan Maharaj, Swami Sivananda, and Swami Chinmayananda — and revisited their key teachings. We highlighted their contributions to preserving and spreading Hindu philosophy, as well as the timeless messages they imparted on knowledge, devotion, and selfless service.
Samartha Ramadas - A 17th-century Hindu saint and spiritual reformer devoted to Lord Rama and Hanuman. He inspired discipline, strength, and devotion among people through his teachings and writing Dasbodh. We covered the story of King Shivaji, and how he encouraged him in his mission to establish a just and strong Maratha kingdom.
Chanting: We chanted and reflected on select verses of Bhagavad Gita Chapter 15
Fun - Kids had a great time showing all the great steps that they learnt from last class, for today we played Moksha Path (dice game)- they got introduced to Virtues and Vices and we will dig deeper into the concepts as we explore mahabharata.
