Hari Om,
We started our class with chanting OM & Sahana Vavatu. Continuing with the Ramayana we covered chapters 12 & 13. We did a quick pre cap Quiz with all kids.
Chapter 12:
Dasharatha tells his time has come and the story of shravana to Kaushalya . i can see that the curse given by his old parents is coming true. As i have to be away from my son and now i am getting old and i see Yamduta calling me. now Dasratha dies saying Rama rama..and again Ayodhya is in grief. Both the queens were sad . While Bharath and shatrugna were at their Grand parents place, messenger went to call them back to Ayodhya. While they came back they saw all were sad, ayodhya was all gloomy. but manthra and kaikayei were all dressed up and set for a celebration .Both sons were surprised at this. Sage Vasistha along with Bharatha and shtrugna performed last rites . After few days a meeting was held in the palace where Sage Vaisitha said its time for Bharatha to take the duty of king.
Chapter 13:
Bharatha was very upset and angry with his mother. She had taken wrong decision and used her 2 boons in wrong place. She was feeling bad that i was your son, she said to her you loved all of us equally why did you do this. How will i face mother Kaushalya. Meanwhile Shatrugna saw Manthra so he tried to scold her and bashed his anger on her.Now they go to Mother Kaushalya, ask for forgiveness . She said Rama is a man of Dharma , he will follow what is father asked him for. But Bharatha said tomorrow i will go and talk to Rama about this me being crowned as king. So next morning all Ayodhya was ready to go to Forest and see Lord Rama. Guha saw them coming so he went to Rsi Bhardwaj and said the Bharatha has come here with his army to cause harm to Rama. Should i fight them and make them go away. Rsi explained first talk to them than we will see. Guha than realized after talking to bharatha , that he came here to talk to rama and make him king and take back not to kill him. Rama, Laxman and Sita were sad to hear that their father had passed away. But rama explained i will complete my 14 years journey in forset and than only return to Ayodhya. Till than you please go back and rule the kingdom . Lets all do our Dharma.
MORAL:
Always listen to elders. Respect everyone around. use your wisdom, be mindful before your actions.
Assignment:
Continue with coloring for homework and spend some time writing Likhita Japa. Do ask kids to do their Dharma and follow it at home. We did ask them to help parents, grand parents, siblings at home in 1 task.
We did some Yoga poses as we are learning about Rama life in forest , so trying some bear pose, monkey jump, frog jump, tree pose etc.
Gita Chanting- Chapter 15:
We recited verses11 & 12 on page 26 in the handbook. Please continue to practice as a family at home.
