Nov 2, 2025 - Grade 3 (Sunday PM)

Hari Om,

We started today's class with 3 Om's and an opening prayer.

After a brief review of last week's discussion, we moved on to this week's discussion.

We talked about Brahma's creation of the first man (Manu) and woman (Satarupa).

Their request for a place to live and carry out Brhama's order.
The story started after Pralaya. The entire universe is in a state of rest. Mother Earth was submerged in the ocean.
Brahma and all the Devas prayed to Narayan to get the earth back from the water.

Lord Narayan takes an avatara as a Boar (Varaha Murthy) and brings the earth back to the surface.

-What happens when Varaha Murthy rescues Mother Earth?
-Who did the lord fight against? Hiranyaksha
-Ask about why the lord took the form of a Boar?
-What are we doing to Mother Earth, who is a gift to all of us from the Lord?

How can we make a difference? (Story of a little boy throwing back starfish into the ocean).
Kids were assigned a task to make a small difference by doing small things at home
-Turning off electrical appliances after usage
-Reducing use of plastics
-Not wasting water.
-Talking about these things to friends and family to create additional awareness. And lead by example.

Also, one important discussion was about Hiranyaksha's arrogance and pride.

Ask kids to talk about the story of Varuna, Hiranyakashipu, and the connection to the rabbit and tortoise story.

3 takeaways:
-Why did lord take the form of a Boar? Every being is equal in the eyes of God. Also, a connection to the physical aspects of Boar.
-Arrogance and pride can bring one down.
-Mother Earth is a gift to us from the lord. We all need to protect and save the gift.

With Guru's blessings
