Today we covered H and I.
H is for happiness Kids told us that playing with friends, their parents made them happy When friends push, say mean things, and not being able to play makes them unhappy. We wrote this under happy or sad face on the board
ACTIVITY-
Kids really enjoyed going on the Chinmaya Happy Train They stopped at the Playground, Toyland, Amusement Park, and Candyland But all was not as it seemed In the playground, they had to be quiet and meditate In the toyland, they picked up toy bolts and screws. The amusement park was a doctor's office But they did pick up cookies and candies in the Candyland
MORAL- Always smile and be happy, even if things don't turn out as expected
Next Chapter is I for Intelligence.
We went over emotions such as happy, sad, angry which comes from our mind. Our intelligence helps us to make the right decision, such as not biting our nails, not eating too much candy, being nice.
We told them the story about Shiva and the celestial fruit. Shiva asked Ganesha and Kartikeya to go around the world. Whoever comes back first would get the fruit. Kartikeya set off on his peacock. But Ganesha knew that he would be slow on the mouse. Ganesha told his parents that you are the Adidampatti from where the universe came from. Ganesha bowed to his parents, went around them 7 times, saying Pitrdevo bhava, Matrdevo bhava. Shiva was so pleased and gave the fruit to Ganesha. Kartikeya knew that Ganesha used his intelligence to achieve his goal.
Kids also did their pradaksina around image of Shiva and Parvati 7 times, putting flowers down.
BHAJAN- kids learned a new Bhajan today- Veera Maruti..
