Oct 26, 2025 - Grade 7 (Sunday AM)

Hari Om Parents,

Please find a summary of the events discussed in class

Story of Ganga and Bhageeratha:

King Bhageeratha, moved by the fate of his ancestors who were turned to ashes, undertook deep penance to bring the holy river Ganga down from heaven to Earth to purify their souls. Lord Brahma granted his wish but advised him to seek Lord Shiva's help to contain Ganga's mighty descent. When Ganga, in her pride, rushed down with full force, Shiva caught her gently in his matted locks and released her as peaceful streams that flowed across the Earth — freeing Bhageeratha's ancestors and blessing the world.

On her way, the river's waters entered the ashram of Sage Jahnu, flooding it. Angered, the sage drank up all of Ganga's waters, but at Bhageeratha's request, he released her again through his ear. From that time, Ganga became known as "Jāhnavī" — the daughter of Sage Jahnu.

Through Bhageeratha's perseverance and devotion, the children learned how focus, humility, and selfless effort can lead to great accomplishments — even those that bless generations to come.

Keys to Success - Mechanics of mind

We explored the concept of the mind and how it can be compared to the flow of a river. Just as a river carves its path based on the terrain it flows through, our thoughts take shape based on the impressions (samskaras) we have created over time.

To stay focused on higher goals, it's important to sharpen and train the mind, just as we sharpen tools to make them effective. Through reflection and awareness, we can guide the flow of our thoughts toward clarity and purpose.

We also discussed the difference between the subjective and objective mind:

  • The subjective mind is shaped by personal perspectives, emotions, and experiences — how we see the world.

  • The objective mind observes without personal bias, focusing on facts and truth as they are.

By understanding both, the children learned how awareness helps us find balance — to be thoughtful and compassionate, yet grounded in truth

Warm Regards,

Rahul and Keerthi
