Oct 26, 2025 - Grade 3 (Sunday PM)

Hari om Parents,

We started the class with 3 Om's and an opening prayer. "Sahana Vavatu"

After a short revision of the last class,
How King Parikshit went hunting and reached the ashram of Rishi Shamika. In his anger, triggered by thirst and hunger, the King felt insulted as the Rishi did not answer and was in deep meditation. The King put a dead snake around the Rishi, and when the Rishi's son found this, he cursed King Parikshit that he would die in 7 days as a result of a snake bite.

So, the Kind did a wrong thing, and the Rishi's son did another wrong thing. The children learnt that 2 wrongs don't make a right.

We continued the story in today's class.

As the King renounced his kingdom and made his son the next king, and prepared for his final days, all the great sages came to meet him. The King asked them how he should spend his final days and reach the Lord's Lotus feet. Sukhadeva, who was Vyasa Muni's son, told him that he should listen to the stories and glories of the Lord. He started narrating the Bhagavatam to the king.

We talked about Pralaya and the Cycle. Everything started during the resting phase of the Universe.

Lord Brahma was born from a stalk that came out of Lord Narayana's belly button. Lord Narayana asked Lord Brahma to create the world.  Lord Brahma created Prajapathis/Saptharishsis, Sanatkumaras, and Devatas. Daksha was one of these special devata.

One of his daughters was called Diti, and she was married to the very wise and noble sage, Kashyapa.
Ask about what happened in the story and how it led to the birth of Asuras (Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu).

All activities have stipulated timing and need to be performed at that time. And if we do not follow, it would have consequences.
we also talked about the story of Jaya and Vijaya and how they had to take 3 births on earth as Asura.

Thus, Jaya and Vijaya were born as

Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakshipu in one birth

Ravana and Kumbhakarna in another birth and

Shishupalan and Jarasandhan in the next birth.

We played a crossword puzzle. Children were given a paper with the names of great sages. They had to find the names.

Ask kids to name a few names of the Sages.

With Gurus Blessings
