Oct 12, 2025 - Grade 7 (Sunday AM)

Hari Om Parents,
We began class chanting Om 3 times followed by our opening prayers. We discussed the importance of our prayers and how it affects our mindset and concentration.

Key to Success

Today, we continued our discussion around the concept of success by asking the class to name a few people they admire for their achievements. This helped them see success as something relatable and accessible. We emphasized the importance of approaching challenges with an open mindset, encouraging children to be curious and flexible in the face of obstacles.

We discussed a few different stories that demonstrated hard work like the farmer, his large apple harvest, his bullock cart getting stuck in mud and the little boy who helped. The story of a wood cutter, his hard work but his blunt axe and the wood cutter with his sharp one.

We then delved into the inspiring story of Thomas Edison and his journey while inventing the light bulb. Through Edison's perseverance, we explored the value of hard work, resilience, and learning from each attempt, no matter the outcome. After that, hpropsed the formula for success:

A (Hard Work) + B (Knowledge) + C (Laughter) = Success

This formula highlights that success isn't only about working hard and gaining knowledge, but also about finding joy in the process. It was a wonderful way for the children to understand that a balanced approach can lead to meaningful accomplishments.

We have been giving the students an incentive to come in early or on time to BalaVihar Sunday mornings by allowing them to try to view stereograms. It's sort of an exercise in concentration as well as trying to see what is right in front of us but not necessarily immediately visible. Only a few students have been able to crack the code so far. Hopefully more of our kids will be able to see at least a few of the stereograms soon. We had a few minutes to spend on it in this class, so that everyone could experience it. We had our Gita chanting and introduced the next 2 shlokas. Please practice at home. The links are on our WhatsApp group.

Saraswati PujaThe class concluded with a traditional Saraswati Puja in the assembly to honor the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, and learning. This offered a great opportunity for the children to connect with the spiritual aspect of education and the significance of seeking divine blessings in their academic journeys.

Our class led the Shanti mantra and pledge after the pooja.

We look forward to continuing our exploration of these rich stories and values in the next class!

Warm Regards,

Rahul and Keerthi
