Oct 10, 2025 - Kindergarten (Friday)

Hari Om parents,

We had a short class today. Welcome Vivek and Vedit- new students in class!

We started class with 3 Oms and our starting prayer, Om Saha Navavatu. Kids learned Sarasvati Namasubhyam mantra right away. We practiced about 10 times.

We started Ch 5- C is for cleanliness. We showed kids untidy and clean bedroom and kitchen on the tv screen. Kids answered that the untidy room had things on floor, desk, bed. How do we keep our surroundings clean? We make our bed, put away our toys, clean our rooms, wash dishes.

We asked how do we keep our bodies clean? Kids answered taking daily bath, brushing teeth, washing hands, wearing clean clothes.

We went over some emotions. How do they feel if they spill their juice, if a friend pushes them, a friend invites them to a bday party? These are the emotions in our mind.

How do we keep our minds clean? We wrote these on the board. Do not say bad words, do not watch bad tv shows, do not hear bad words, no fighting, be nice to everyone, love everyone.

Kids can color the picture of the monkey that closes his ears, his eyes, and mouth to keep his mind clean.

Activity- we went to the kitchen and asked kids if they would drink from a jar covered with mud, or jar with muddy water, or jar with sugar water. Just like we would choose water with sugar, so to we would choose to be around people that are clean inside and from outside. By being clean within, we come close to God.

Story- we told story of the Royal horse that could not bathe in dirty water.

We all went to the temple hall to do our Sarasvati Puja. They did well in following the directions although a few ate the raisins right away.

Everyone received the Likhita Japa notebook. We will have them write in class as well. Once each page is completed, they can submit for House points. Our house is Krishna's cowboys.

We wish everyone a Happy Diwali. Please do practice the 2 mantras they have learned so far.

Next class is Friday, October 24.

With our Guru's blessings,
Kavita and Anuradha
