Sep 7, 2025 - Grade 7 (Sunday AM)

Hari: Om Parents,

Welcome to Grade 7 Ramayana. It was super exciting to meet our students and they were happy to be back at the ashram after summer break. (We missed the few that were unable to make it to our 1st class). As many of you already know, we had a shortened class on Sunday after the introduction assembly. It was nice to see some familiar faces and all the new ones too!! The kids were active and engaged throughout the class. After teacher introductions, we went around to see where the kids stood in terms of their exposure and understanding of the Ramayana. They introduced themselves, shared their interests and talked about their favorite part of the Ramayana and their favorite characters. We spent the remainder of class having a quiz to recap a few of the main events of Ramayana. We found that most of our children have only a basic understanding, so we will be presenting and discussing the sequence of events in detail then we will take a deeper dive into the characters and how dharma plays a central role in the Ramayana and what could be some of the takeaways they can learn to incorporate in life.

The reference book will be Ramayana by C. Rajagopalachari. It is not mandatory, you can purchase it on Amazon if you like. Most kids said that they love to read. Our children do not need to purchase it for class but they are welcome to read it and bring any insights for class discussions.

The other central theme for our class is The Key to Success, which has the text as Vibheeshana Geetha. For those of you who missed it, our assigned classroom this year is "Vasudeva", the second room on the left from the main entrance. Thank you to the parents that came down to class for a brief intro. We sent out an invite to join our class WhatsApp group. We will keep that as our main mode for quick communication.

Our class will be responsible for the Diwali Seva Project. We will send out more details regarding that soon.

Please mark your calendars and save the date for March 8, 2026 for our class stage performance.

We are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning ahead. Please feel free to reach out at any time if you have any queries.

Warm Regards,
Rahul and Keerthi
