Welcome to our Grade 4 class, Today is the first class, all kids were very enthusiastic to meet each other and interact with each other.
We all went to our classroom -- "Murari" and below is what we did after:
We started the class by sitting criss cross and chanted 3 Oms, and then introduced ourselves and provided an
Overview of the Weekly Class Format:
1.Opening Prayers: 3 Oms, then Sahana Vavatu, Ganesha Slokha -Vakra Tunda, Saraswathi Slokha- Saraswathi Namasthubayam, Guru Slokha - Guru Brahma.
2. KrishnaAshtakam : chanting which is the new Slokha as per our curriculum.
3. Introduced our class Syllabus : Bala Bhagvatham Part 2 - Krishna Everywhere and My 24 Teachers. - we briefly discussed our curriculum.
4. Discussed the different competitions and House Activities.
Intro of Kids:
Asked each kid to introduce themselves, and what they like to do outside of their academic activities. We heard a good variety of hobbies, sports, and activities kids are into.
Bhajan-
Then when we asked about any bhajans - they all said they knew - Hey Murali Shridhara, and they all sang together.
Attendance - Attendance was taken after this, each kid said Hari Om when their name was called.
Nama japa - Then we asked the kids to do Nama japa - either write in their book or if there is no book with them, we asked them to meditate. Kids very nicely focussed on doing nama japa.
Yoga time: Some kids did some yoga poses, jumping jacks and cartwheel etc.
Meeting Parents:
Parents came to meet us in the classroom and we provided an overview of our curriculum, weekly class format, requested parents to reinforce the learnings from our classes, to help kids learn better and also requested feedback etc to be provided periodically. Informed parents to join our whatsapp group.
While we were talking to parents, kids were focussed on doing nama japa. After this, we all went to the prayer hall for aarthi and pledge.
It was very exciting to meet your lovely kids and yourselves. Looking forward to a great year together and start knowing your kids more !!
