Welcome to Grade 1, 2025 - 26 Friday session.
We started our class by chanting OM 3 times followed by shlokas
"Om Saha Navavatu" (page 8 in My Prayers book)
"Vakratunda Mahakaya" (page 27 in My Prayers book)
"Sarawathi namasthubhyam" (page 12 in My Prayers book)
"Guru Brahma" (page 61 in My Prayers book)
Then , we introduced ourselves and tried to remember the names.Later, talked about Saraswathi Matha who is the Goddess of knowledge, and Ganesha, talked about the meaning of Varkrathunda Shloka.
Story time :
This year we will learn about Lord Rama's story - Bala Ramayanam.
We talked about Ayodhya and King Dasharatha and his three queens. King Dasharatha took care of the people in the kingdom very nicely and all the people were very happy but the king was unhappy. Because, the king had no children. So, the king reached his Guru Vashishta and his Guru took him to sage Hrshyashringa, who advised him to perform Putrakamesti Yaga and we talked about what Yaga is and how it is performed. We took a pause to the story and went to Aarthi.
