Sep 21, 2025 - Grade 8 (Sunday AM)

Hari Om Parents,

Sep 21 was the House Activities day! 8th-grade students are now mentors for other children in their respective houses' activities.

The class was short. We did Bhagavad Geeta chanting in class. We explained how to manage other children at the games and discussed the general rules of the games. The students did a good job in managing the chaos that is usual at these fun events.

We will continue with the Karma the next class.

Here are specific takeaways from two of our students from last week's class:

SK: In class we learned about the 3 types of action, mental (thought), physical, and verbal. I feel that this is very important because many times we think "it's just a thought, it'll do no harm", but from that class I learned that the thoughts will slowly change how you speak. Like for example if I don't like Bob, then I'll slowly start thinking bad thoughts about him, and then slowly start to say bad things about him, and finally maybe do something bad to him. The best way to avoid this negativity is by eliminating the thought itself, because you never know when it might make you do something wrong.

LV: We learned about Karma, what goes around comes around. I learned that no matter what action you make, it will reflect and will come back to you. The action in return can come back to you currently right after or it can come later. For example, if someone screams at you, you could get mad and throw something, that would be your action. The action that comes back would be that the item you threw could break and you would have to pay for it. Like that it goes in a cycle and it never ends. I was also able to take away that sometimes the action could simply be a thought as well. So even if you think about something, it could come back. Actions could be negative or positive. Sometimes, all these positive or negative actions could reflect in your next life as well."
