Unfortunately, it also happened to be AP week, so many of our students couldn’t make it. But the few who did come? We made the most of it.
We watched WALL-E—and what a choice that turned out to be.
“It’s kind of scary how accurate this is,” they said.
And truly—it was.
A movie made in 2008, imagining a future that, back then, felt distant… and yet, so many parts of it felt uncomfortably close to reality today. The dependence on screens, the disconnect from nature, the passive way of living—it sparked some very real reflections.
Next year, we’ll definitely plan Movie Mania on a more convenient week so everyone can be part of it.
Looking ahead—next Sunday is Gurudev Jayanti. We will be performing Gurupaadukaa Pooja, and as always, our class will take the lead in setting up for the entire Bala Vihar. We are counting on all of you to come together and make it beautiful.
Until then, holding on to the thought the movie left us with—
Are we living consciously… or just conveniently?
