Hari OM Dear Families,
Here is this week's update.
Continuing with the next line in the pledge
WE LIVE HONESTLY THE NOBLE LIFE OF SACRIFICE AND SERVICE
What is Honesty? Speaking the truth which we have covered, such as telling your parents when you break something. We are kind to our friends and not say anything that would hurt them.
What is Noble Life? We have already discussed nobility in our alphabet safari. A noble person is filled with love, kindness, good values, patience, forgiveness, courage, disciplined, friendly and cheerful- all of the qualities that we have learned so far.
SACRIFICE and SERVICE. how parents sacrifice making food even when they feel sick. Firemen, police officers, doctors, nurses, teachers all serve us.
PRODUCING MORE THAN WHAT WE CONSUME AND GIVING MORE THAN WHAT WE TAKE
Producing means to make something. examples such as making food, building cars, toys, clothes,.
Consume means buying or taking, such as food, clothes, toys.
GIVING more than what we take
What do we take? Food, shelter, clothes, toys.
What can we give? Old toys, clothes (gently used), food, love.
Moral values learned - Share with all and you will be rewarded and Everytime we give, Bhagvan always makes sure we get something in return.
We feel happy when we help without thinking about ourselves.
Stories discussed
1. Hanuman helping laxmana , carrying mountain (how to help fully, quickly , without thinking of self)
2. Ganesha and tusk (how we should do our duty even when it's difficult)
3. Gandhiji and thief (noble - empathy, how nobility can change even a bad person)
4. Our Gurudev Chinmayananda ji - shared his knowledge. He left comfort and started travelling to help impart knowledge. ( We become one family when we do service)
Likhita japa kids did a great job and earned stickers for their beautiful work.
Bhajans- good singing and sticker rewards earned.
We finished the session with the pledge in the temple hall.
