Hari Om Parents,
Welcome to our Grade 4 class. We all met in our classroom -- "Murari" and after all the kids came to the class, we started the class with:
Opening Prayers: We all sat straight, criss cross, hands folded, chanted together 3 Oms, then Sahana Vavatu, Ganesha Slokha -Vakra Tunda, Saraswathi Slokha- Saraswathi Namasthubayam, and Guru Slokha - Guru Brahma.
Then, a group of high school students - Varun, Anirudh, and Krishna - visited the Sunday AM Grade 4 class. They began by introducing themselves, sharing their interests, and talking about what they like about Bal Vihar. The Grade 4 students then introduced themselves as well, which helped create a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Varun, Anirudh, and Krishna led an engaging session on the five senses and the Gurus of Dattatreya. They discussed examples such as the elephant, fish, moth, and others, explaining the weaknesses associated with each and what we can learn from them to avoid making similar mistakes in our own lives. The concepts were taught in a fun quiz format, where students first guessed the weakness and then explored the topic in more detail.
This was followed by an interactive game, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. The slides prepared by the high school students were very well made, and the content was clear and thoughtful. All three students were well prepared, and I was truly impressed by the effort, planning, and care they put into the session.
