Jan 11, 2026 - Grade 4 (Sunday AM)

Hari Om Parents,

Welcome to our Grade 4 class. We all met in  our classroom -- "Murari" and after all the kids came to the class, we started the class with:

Opening Prayers: We all sat straight, criss cross, hands folded, chanted together 3 Oms, then Sahana Vavatu, Ganesha Slokha -Vakra Tunda, Saraswathi Slokha- Saraswathi Namasthubayam, and Guru Slokha - Guru Brahma.

Krishna Ashtakam :  This year we will be learning sloka Krishna Ashtakam.
We chanted Krishna Ashtakam once together and it's in Page 109 of the My Prayers book.

Then we moved on to the next Guru.

My 24 Gurus - We learnt about the Next  Guru - Ocean

Who Am I?

  • I roar day and night
  • I am cool
  • I am vast
  • I am blue
  • I am 3/4ths

Qualities to learn from Guru Ocean

  • Calmness & fury

  • Take in Everything

  • Do not be proud thinking how big.

Lesson from Guru Ocean : Equanimity at all times. No matter what happens we endure it as God knows the best for us and knowing that everything happens for the best !! and we should never lose our inner calm.

Class Attendance was taken after this.

Story of Eknath Maharaj:  Through the story of Eknath Maharaj we learnt how to be patient and calm even if someone intentionally troubles us. And need to show our maturity and fortitude in these testing times. And learn to be calm at all times, and learn to accept every situation with the same mindset and attitude.

Brainstorming:
Perspective:  We discussed  that each situation can be perceived by different persons differently and it's totally Ok to have different perceptions. And sometimes we need to see things in a microscopic view and sometimes with a Telescopic view.

Bala Bhagavatam

We narrated the story of Brahma's MohaBhanga which shows how Brahmaji lost to Lord Krishna.

Story of the Turtle : Lesson learnt : Eagerness to show off, got the turtle in big trouble, similar to what happened to Brahmaji!

Game: Kids wanted to play the game of a Night at the Museum. We played 5 rounds of the game, each lasting for a few mins each. Kids enjoyed it a lot and had fun times with each other.

Likitha Japa : Some of the kids did Likitha japa for sometime after the game and some of them did Rama nama meditation at this time.

Bhagvad Geeta Gītā Chanting Yajna telecast  Bhagavad Gītā - Chapter 15 - Puruṣottama yogaḥ -Yoga of The Supreme Spirit,  Verses 19, 20  we all chanted together.

Please make kids practice at home.

Then we all went to the prayer hall  for Aarthi and Pledge.

Another wonderful session with kids actively participating and Kids were excited to be in class and meet their friends after the break.

Happy New Year 2026 to all !!!
