                                           E FOR ENTHUSIASM

This week it is E for Enthusiasm. We do a particular work which will ultimately do good for us and others. But all of a sudden we feel dull and drop out midway from the work. Will we benefit from it? No. So what will make us complete the task? That is Enthusiasm. This only will make us work to the highest goal just as how aspiration will help us achieve. We should feel enthusiastic always in doing good work and this will give an encouragement to our fellow beings as well. Keeping ourselves enthusiastic will help us achieve and create a good name for ourselves. This is illustrated by a story.

Gitu was a small chipmunk and he always wanted to help others. But because he was small he was not allowed to be of any help to anyone. Everyone will mock at his size whenever he comes to offer for help. This degraded Gitu a lot but whenever he felt sad about his size, his mother will pacify him that everyone can help anyone. One day there was a fierce storm in the village. And the rivers had started to overflow. A dam needed to be constructed. So everyone gathered to built a dam across the river. Gitu also joined. At first everyone laughed. What can he do with his size? But Gitu remained unperturbed and started wetting himself in the water and rolled on the mud and spluttered on the river. Slowly a bridge started to build itself. Seeing this other people in the village also started to construct the bridge so eagerly. In a short span of time a bridge was constructed but nobody thanked Gitu for making the people do the work eagerly.

It was Gitu's enthusiasm which made the villagers to work properly but they did not realize it. But will it escape the notice of that Supreme personality? He patted Gitu on his back which left a mark on him. Gitu felt a shrill of joy passing through his body. IT WAS PARAMATMA WHO HAD PATTED HIM. So Gitu did not care about the villagers not thanking him.

Likewise our enthusiasm and love will never go unnoticed by God. He will reward us for all the efforts that we take in doing a noble job. Let us keep our enthusiasm alive and achieve higher goals.
