Nov 16, 2025 - Grade 6 (Sunday PM)

Hari Om Parents

After our regular prayers we had a quiz on chapters we covered. Most kids did well on the quiz. We were happy that they are paying attention to what we are saying in class.

As Krishna is preparing himself to go to Hastinapura, Bheema also extends his support for peace thereby proving that even the greatest of the warriors prefer peace for the greater cause and it is not to be mistaken as fear of war. However Draupadi did not believe in peace. She shows her open tresses to Lord Krishna and begs him to get her some justice. She tells him that even if everyone wants peace, her father along with her sons and subhradra's son Abhimanyu shall go and fight the war. She suppressed her anger for 13 years in respect for her husband Dharmaraja. She is no longer able to contain her flame of anger.

Krishna assures her that the foolish brothers are not going to agree for peace and that she will be able to see all of their deadbodies and will be alive to avenge their complete destruction.

Having said that, he proceeds to Hastinapura. With the news of Krishna's arrival, Dhritharashtra orders that the city be decorated, and arrangements be made in full swing for his welcome. Krishna resides in Viduras house where he meets Kunti and comforts her. Vidura discusses with Krishna about Duryodhana's false confidence in winning the war because of the backing of stalwarts like Drona and Bhishma who are bound by their duties and Dharma to the king. He warns him that they might not even hesitate to harm Krishna's life.

When Krishna reaches Hastinapura, he is welcomed with folded hands by everyone. He tells Dhritharashtra  the purpose of his visit and cautions him that his sons are bringing ruins to the people and it is duty to stop them. To which the blind King admits his incapacity to control his foolish and cruel sons and requests Krishna to put some sense into Duryodhana.

Krishna turns to him and says that on account of his bad decisions the family line is ruined. If he is able to give Pandavas what they want, they will accept Dhritharashtra  as King and him as his heir. Advises him to make peace. Bhishma and Drona also try their best but in vain. Duryodhana, frustrated and angry at everyone giving him advice of peace, shouts that he did no wrong and whatever he has was won in a game fairly and blames Yudhishtra for his bad decisions and that he owes them nothing, not even a needle of land. Krishna reminds him about the deceitful game and the insults committed towards Draupadi in central court and to claim that his victory was fair is utterly shameless and wrong.

The Kaurava brothers leave the court. As a last resort they bring in Gandhari to convince the son but alas even she fails,

As expected by Vidura the brothers try to tie him up at which time, Krishna grows in enormous size and shows his Vishwaroopam to people in the court. He grants vision to Dhritarashtra   temporarily. After being convinced that the obstinate Duryodhana will not agree to peace he leaves the court, goes to kunti and gives her the news. War becomes a certainty.

Kunti - Attachment and Duty.

Kunti is in a dilemma of whether to stop her sons from doing anything contrary to Kshatriya tradition or have them follow the tradition and be responsible for the innumerable killings that will take away everyone's happiness.

She is terrified thinking how her sons will defeat the stalwarts Bhishma, Drona and Karna. Even if they are saved by the love of Bhishma and Drona's mercy because they are his disciples, Karna who is an arch rival of Arjuna will not spare him and the rest. Is it time to tell him the truth? She decides to meet him

She reveals his identity that he is her son and that he is a true Kshatriya. She tries to convince him that he should join hands with the Pandavas and together they can destroy the enemies. He will get recognition as a Kshatriya and he will be applauded by everyone for lending support to his brothers.

To this Karna accuses her of depriving all privileges that a Kshatriya is entitled to, deprived him of maternal affection and thinking of her Children's safety she has resorted to telling him the truth. It would be contrary to his duty and dharma to abandon Duryodhana when he was the one who accepted him when the whole world turned him down. Having eaten their salt it is unfair to desert them when in fact he was the one who pushed them towards war. But yet he makes a promise to her that he will not touch any of her sons except Arjuna. Either Arjuna or himself will die. Kunti will always have 5 sons. Believing that she cannot fight destiny and with the half hearted satisfaction that atleast 4 of her sons will be unharmed she returns home

Thank You

Hari Om
