The Ashram is collecting Halloween candy for the "Treats for Troops". Please drop off in the marked bins by Nov 15th.

Week 7 Update
Likhita Japa - Class began with the children writing 18 times - "Sri Krishna Sharanam Mama" / "Jai Sri Krishna", in their little blue notebooks.
If your child did not pick up their blue japa book, please ask us in the next class.

Shlokas
Om chanting, Sahana vavatu, Vakratunda mahakaya, Saraswati namastubhyam, Guru Brahma, Mahamrutyunjaya shloka (My Prayers, pg 78).
We revised verse 1-5 of Krishnashtakam and learned verse 6 (My Prayers book pg 109). An audio for this shloka was shared on WA group for your reference.

Krishna Lila
After a quick recap, we continued with baby Krishna's story.
The story of the defeat of Trinavarta. The kids took score:  Sri Krishna - 2 Vs Kamsa - 0
Naughty baby Krishna is now crawling and creates havoc at home. We saw what happened when mother Yashoda tried to tie him up!
The story of baby Krishna removing the curse of Kubera's sons.
The story of Sri Krishna revealing the entire cosmos in his mouth to his mother Yashoda!

Introspection Activity: The children unscrambled letters to the word - Share. They wrote down things to share and how it makes them feel when they share with others.
 At home in their notebooks they will write down how they practiced this virtue each day of the week.

My 24 Teachers
Today's riddle: I do not have shape, color or taste. I am very important for all living beings. Who am I? Answer - Water.
The children made a page for their handbook on water. They wrote down what water does for us. 
Sage Dattatreya says just like the holy water purifies, an ascetic purifies our minds. 
The children heard the Echo story. Moral - If you are nice to others, others will be nice to you. We discussed the importance of good speech.
Talk to your child about how they can overcome their individual negative tendencies.

Gita Chanting
We learned verse 11 and 12 from Chapter 15 today (BV Handbook, pg 25). Remind your child to review the verses regularly.

Bala Vihar will be on NJEA break next week, next class is Nov 16th.
