Oct 26, 2025 - Grade 5 (Sunday PM)

Hari Om! Parents,

Attendees: 3 out of 7. Vihaan, Shreeya and Ishika attended.

We began our classes with chanting and likitha japa, where kids write their favorite deity's name 18 times.

Highlights

Mahabharata – Chapters 3 and 4

We continued our journey through the Mahabharata, exploring Chapters 3 and 4. The class included a retelling of key stories, helping reinforce the characters, values, and lessons learned so far. The stories of Pandavas and Kauravas and the various characters were elaborated upon. Then the story of Drona and Drupada from their childhood friendship to the enmity that grows between them was described in detail as Drona trains pandavas and later asks for Drupada to be captured as his Gurudakshina. The story of Ekalavya also intrigued the students.

Gurus – Inspirations from Spiritual Masters

Swami Chinmayananda - Swamiji's story is very intriguing and his life journey has a lot of learnings for us. We recommend watching the movie "On a Quest", available on YouTube for free, which describes his life journey.

Chanting:  We chanted and reflected on select verses of Bhagavad Gita Chapter 15

Fun - To keep the class engaging, we introduced breaks in the middle with exercises to keep the energy levels doing. We also added a dance step to make it fun for the kids :-)

Reminders

  • Please send a notebook and pen for likitha japa in class. Encourage 5 minutes of writing practice at bedtime.

  • Review the 2 ślokas practiced in class.

  • We've created a parent WhatsApp group for easy updates—let us know if you're not yet added.

Warm regards,

- Sangeetha Srikanth and Sunil Nadig
