BV Class updates:
Hari Om Parents,
This year we will be seeing about Alphabet Safari. Generally, it will be A for Apple. But here in BalaVihar, it is A for Aspiration and B for Brotherhood. The English alphabets will be dealt with in a different way. In the first class we dealt with A for Aspiration and the example for this Mahaveer Arjuna. His dedication and aspiration to become a great archer and how he achieved it is what children learnt for the letter A. Arjuna remained focused. This was explained with an incident in his life from the great historic epic, The Mahabharata. Dronacharya decided to test his students. He placed a toy parrot on a tree and told everyone to come and shoot an arrow at it. All others were able to see everything but Arjuna alone told he was seeing only the bird's eye. This is called Aspiration.
B for Brotherhood. A classic example for this is Rama, Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrughna. Each one sacrificed a great, rich and prosperous kingdom for their brother. Lakshmana travelled with his brother and mother like sister-in-law in the forest for 14 years and he served both of them as if they were his own father and mother. And Bharata did not stay in the palace enjoying pleasures because his own dear brother was suffering in the forest and he was the rightful heir to the throne of Ayodhya. He stayed for 14 years in Nandigram, a village where no comforts were available waiting for his brother to return. And Rama, joyfully gave the kingdom to his brother Bharata when his mother demanded that Bharata will rule the kingdom. The sacrifice that each brother made for the other is an immense example of Brotherhood. Rama can live even without Sita but not without his brothers even though all four brothers were not blood brothers but step brothers. We too should have the sense of brotherhood for each other irrespective of who they are. This will make the world a better place to live in.
So it is not A for Apple and B for Ball. It is A for Aspiration and B for Brotherhood. Let us cultivate these qualities in our children.
With Gurudev's blessings,
