Hari Om Parents,
We started our class by opening prayers (Sahana vavatu).
We recapped on what taught last class, i.e.
What are the three things
1. Who is God?
2. Where is God?
3. What does God do?
Letter 'A' – is for Aspiration- What and how focused Arjuna was and to achieve what we want to do is Aspiration.
We also learnt our house bhajan "Hey Murali Sridhara " Our house slogan is – Sri Krishna bhagavan ki jai.
We have given children cutouts for coloring. Please put them in a folder. We continued exploring the Aspiration word.
Dronacharya, who was the guru of Kauravas and Pandavas, one day decided to test them. He took them to a place and asked them to shoot the birds eye which was sitting on the tree.
Everyone Dhuryodhana, yudistira bima came one by one and when Dronacharya asked them if they could see their brothers, tree ,sky all of them answered affirmatively. And then Dronaacharya said that they could keep the bow and leave , not proceed further to release the arrow. When it was Arjuna's turn he asked the same questions and Arjuna replied with negation. He asked what he was able to see then Arjuna said he could only see birds eye, when he said to go ahead and release the arrow , it went straight and hit the birds eye. The moral is that we need to be much more focused to achieve our goals. We placed a Bulls-eye on the board and all kids were given three chances to hit the bulls' eye with a Ping-Pong ball. Few of them were very close to getting in their third try. We went back to realize what was required to reach our goal i.e focus. This game of bulls eye created little fun and more energy in kids hence to bring them back to our class, we did a few yoga poses. Standing on one leg and standing without moving or wobbling.
We went back to our places and went on to learn about the letter 'B'- B is for brotherhood.
We asked kids what are a few words that begin with B, few said Ball, Boy, Big, Bat and Balloon.
We moved on and asked them who all were living in their home. Everyone mentioned who stays in their home. What do parents do, every one said mom takes care of us, gives us food, takes us to classes, makes sure we eat healthy and dad gives Gifts. It was so much fun to hear from everyone how they feel about their parents. We asked what about grandparents, cousins' uncles and aunts? How are they related? Are they family? Yea they are our family and so everyone who is related is part of our family. Where we live with family is called home, groups of home make a town/city. Cities make countries and all countries make the world which is our big HOME.
Vasudhaika Kutumbam- World is our family.
Kutumbam means family, vasudha is mother earth.
What is HOME? So where there is happiness ever that we call HOME, H, Om, E.
H- Happy
OM-Paramatma(Lord/God)
E- Ever
We shared a picture printout and asked everyone to color. Before we started coloring, we were hearing a story and colored while listening to the story.
There was a crayon box and every color in the box disliked the other color, red said I don't like yellow. Yellow said I don't like blue, blue said I don't like green, and so on.
Viyaan offered to volunteer to share his crayons with everyone. So we said lets separate them out and kept all reds together and greens together etc.
We took our coloring paper and went coloring one picture at a time, clouds were grey, mountains were brown, tree leaves were green, stems were brown, sky was blue, water was blue, sand castle was red etc.
Everyone did a wonderful job of coloring their pictures beautifully. We asked kids if the colors were beautiful together or individually, it was beautiful together. So we put all the crayons back in one bag and thanked Viyaan for sharing.
Brotherhood means caring for each other and being together.
It was time for our Gita Chanting and we learnt chapter 15th 1,2,3,4 and continued with Verses 5,6 and it was time for Aarthi and pledge and went into our Prayer hall.
